What should I do about this?

I’ve enjoyed martial arts ever since I was a kid and would like to get back into it. I’ve priced the schools around my area and can’t afford classes right now. Are there any good dvd’s, workouts, youtube videos, or instructional items that can improve my skills so that once I’m able to afford it I won’t be too far behind? Please be specific with this question. Thank you.
I’ve taken some TKD and judo along with a little bit of MMA style. I wouldn’t mind learning kendo or some other form of weapon art. I guess the whole far behind is that I don’t want to get out of shape or forget everything I’ve learned so far. I’ll check out some of the websites that are listed. Thanks again!
I forgot one more thing, I was thinking about checking out some capoeira dvds because it’s a combination of martial arts and dance. Any thoughts on this?

I would highly recommend joining a judo club – many of them are free, or very very inexpensive. NOT a school – a CLUB.

You will still get peer instruction and you’ll have people who you can practice with in a safe environment.

In my area the Police department sponsors a Judo club for anyone over 5 – there are youth and adult classes. You pay $45 to join the USJA (that is mainly for insurance) and make a monthly donation of $20 (not required, but come on – twenty bucks!)

Don’t try to learn from a DVD or videos. They can be very good reference material, but you cannot learn a new technique properly from watching someone do it and trying it by yourself. It just doesn’t work. If you can afford a set of Capoeira DVD’s or ANY DVD set for that matter- you can afford Judo…
